Xylo 5 is considered a very fast 5-ply blade, often compared to 7-ply models in terms of speed. The 'burned' Hinoki outer veneers significantly boost stiffness and power, enabling aggressive shots and quick attacks. Despite its pace, it maintains solid spin potential thanks to adequate dwell time.

Even with its speed, Xylo 5 maintains a high level of control, making it versatile for various strokes. The Ayous and Kiri core layers contribute to a good feel and feedback, allowing players to execute precise shots, short game maneuvers, and controlled topspin loops effectively.

The 'burned' Hinoki veneer contributes to a stiffer feel compared to traditional all-wood blades. However, the underlying Ayous and Kiri layers provide sufficient feedback and a natural wood sensation, preventing it from feeling overly dead. It offers a balance between a crisp feel and good dwell time.

Players report a medium to medium-low arc when looping, which, combined with its offensive nature and speed, suggests a medium-high throw angle suitable for aggressive topspin play.
