PP MARS JLC+C FL

Taiwan

PP PP MARS JLC+C FL is an offensive table tennis blade engineered for the modern plastic ball, featuring a unique heterogeneous construction. Developed with Coach Tony Hsu, it offers distinct forehand and backhand characteristics. The forehand side uses JL Carbon for high speed and spin, while the backhand combines AYOUS and Carbon for a softer feel and strong secondary spin. This 7-ply hybrid design provides a balanced offensive platform, delivering a medium-soft feel with good dwell time for players seeking to maximize spin and power in their attacks.

7-Ply Construction

This 7-ply construction uses a heterogeneous layout. The forehand side path (outer to inner) is KOTO, AYOUS, JL Carbon, leading to the AYOUS core. The backhand side path from the core outward is Carbon, AYOUS, AYOUS. This design aims to provide a faster, spin-oriented forehand and a softer, more controlled backhand.

TT Sensei Ratings

Our expert analysis of this blade's performance characteristics

Speed
8.0

This blade delivers a medium-fast pace well-suited for offensive play. The hybrid construction, featuring carbon layers, provides a solid boost to ball acceleration, enabling powerful drives and aggressive attacks without feeling uncontrollably fast.

Control
7.5

Despite its offensive orientation, the PP PP MARS JLC+C FL maintains commendable control. The medium-soft feel and the layered wood construction provide a forgiving touch and good feedback, helping players maintain precision during fast rallies and complex shots.

Feel
Medium-Soft
SoftMedium-SoftHard

Players experience a medium-soft touch, characterized by good feedback and a comfortable sensation on contact. This feel stems from the combination of wood plies and the AYOUS core, providing a responsive yet forgiving platform.

Throw Angle
Medium-High
LowMedium-HighHigh

Designed for offensive play, the blade facilitates a medium-high throw angle. This characteristic is ideal for aggressive looping and topspin shots, helping to lift the ball over the net with good arc and heavy spin.

Dwell Time
7.5

The medium-soft feel and construction promote a notably good dwell time. This allows players to brush the ball effectively, imparting significant spin on both forehand and backhand strokes for more dangerous loops and serves.

Flexibility
6.0

The 7-ply hybrid build results in a moderately flexible blade. This level of flex contributes positively to the dwell time and aids in generating spin, while still providing a stable foundation for powerful, direct hits.

Vibration
6.5

Feedback through the handle is moderate and balanced. The mix of wood and carbon layers, along with the AYOUS core, creates a vibration profile that is neither overly harsh nor completely muted, offering useful tactile information without being distracting.

Quality
8.0

Crafted in Taiwan, this blade benefits from focused manufacturing standards. The development process involved personal selection of materials for optimal elasticity and wood grain, indicating a strong commitment to quality assurance and consistent performance.

Technology

The core innovation of the PP PP MARS JLC+C FL is its heterogeneous blade design, engineered specifically for the plastic ball. It features different material compositions on each side. The forehand integrates JL Carbon to maximize speed and primary spin generation. The backhand utilizes a combination of AYOUS and Carbon to create a softer, more elastic property that enhances secondary spin after the bounce. This dual-sided approach allows players to fully exploit their technical skills on each wing, aiming to maximize both rotation and speed while maintaining stable, predictable feedback. The blade's development was supervised by Coach Tony Hsu, emphasizing its foundation in competitive material science.
